Big question about an LCD monitor

I picked up a 22" LCD monitor last week. It's the Samsung Syncmaster 226 BW model, and I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to it with the VGA cable. Here's the problem: Video games look stunning, and play beautifully, but when I throw in a dvd, the movies look washed out, and the viewing angle is so touchy, if I move 4 inches in any direction the picture changes. Very confusing considering that the video games look vibrant and maintain the image quality at almost any angle. It also has a DVI input, but the 360 doesnt make a DVI cable. The only reason I care about the dvd issue is because I want to get the HD drive for the 360, because apparently the monitor is capable of 1080P.
Anyone else ever had this problem with an LCD monitor? All HD LCD tv's I looked at were colorful and vibrant from any angle, like the rich, vibrant colors you get from a CRT monitor. So are lcd computer monitors different, and can anyone help me with this problem?

Re: Big question about an LCD monitor

I guess the main question I have is:

Do most LCD computer monitors have limited viewing angles as opposed to LCD HD TV's?

My experience with Samsung LCDs has been very good.

Since you use VGA, you may need to adjust those different picture controls a bit.
