Toshiba HD A2/question

I have the HD A2 with a Pioneer 1016 Receiver with Axiom speakers and a Hsu sub...I'm currently running the HDMI outs on the dvd to my TV and the toslink audio outs to my receiver.
Does anyone have an opinion on what way would offer the best audio??

To take advantage of the A2's new audio decoding like Dolby True HD & Dolby Digital Plus, I would use the HDMI to my reciever if you can. Not sure if the 1016 has HDMI for video switching only though? If not, then you'll still get great sound using the A2 optical out. The A2 converts those higher resolution Dolby encodes to 1.5 mbs DTS. Sounds great too.

The Pioneer 1016 does not have the capacity to convert the HDMI feed to audio..as a toslink must be used.
