dolby digital plus with HDA1

Can someone explain the deal with this lossless or near lossless dolby digital plus, dolby digital HD, blah blah blah.

I am debating on buying an HDA1 or an HDA2. The one and only thing that would sway me toward the A1 is the 5.1 analog out. With my current receiver, Denon 787, I know I can't get DDHD but can I get something better like the near lossless dolby digital plus? If so, how much better is it really going to sound over regular dolby digital running through an optical cable with the A2? I do know the A2 has a much better video processor, as far as loading and glitches. I'm starting to think I am better off picking up an A2 with their price going below that of the A1's.

Actually, you can receive TrueHD with the A1 via the analog outputs, so if audio's your thing, go with the A1.

As long as the A1 is updated with the 2.0 firmware, it decodes the TrueHD signal and sends it to your reciever via the analog outs. Same thing with DD+.

I would consider spending the extra money on the AX2. I know it is expensive, but at least you get the 5.1 analog outputs in addition to the conveniences and enhancements that the 2nd-gen model has to offer.
