I use to be a big nut for DTS laserdiscs for the full bitrate sound which is why I am thinking of getting into the HD-Dvd market. However will my set-up let me hear all the wonderful Dolby HD sound or DTS sound in full uncompressed audio? I have a a 60" lcd Sony that can either go 720p or 1080i that I plan using a HDMI cable for the video but the audio is my main question.
I am leaning more towards HD-Dvd over the blu ray for the simple fact that the PS3 continues to be outsold by the xbox 360 and I think a lot of gamers arent ready for the whole blu-ray experience yet.

Nope.
You will only be able to use the optical connection, which appears to transcode all of the new audio formats to full bit rate standard DTS.
Having said that, I too have an A2, and I lack HDMI, so I am using the optical connection. The sound appears to be quite good, and on par with what one would expect from well done DVDs.
