Robert,
Also as a follow up, the form from Toshiba for the 3 free HD DVD's didn't come with the player. Can I just print that off of your web site, and they will accept it? Also, the packing slip doesn't show what was ordered, or a price. What would I use for a reciept for that?

Hello Robert,
Do you know if there are any plans for Pioneer to offer an upgrade to there BDP-HD1 Blu-ray player, so it can decode DTS-HD and Dolby True HD? And how does it compair to the Panasonic BD-10 Blu-ray player? At this time I am saving up for a Panasonic Blu-ray and might purchase a Pioneer Elite reciever after that to replace my old Yamaha RX-V995.

Leigh, we are shipping the XA2 on 1/3/07.
David, no official announcement. But I would be very surprised if Pioneer did not provide a lossless audio firmware update.

A non-technical question. When will you be back in the store after CES? I had planned to stop over to see you over the holidays but a slight cold got in the way of my plans. Looks like it will have to wait until after CES (I'm not heading out there since I prefer the relative "saneness" of CEDIA).

Robert, did you have a chance to play around with the XA2 since you were suppposed to get them in store today? What are your initial impressions versus the A2?

Danny, I am sorry to say I did not have much time at all as I worked in the shipping department all day getting al of our XA2 orders out the door.
Last week I used one and today I set one up and looked at some excellent HD DVDs. The image quality was excellent and I loved playing around with the color management tools.
I'll have more time to enjoy the XA2 at CES and once I take one home, which I expect to be by the third week of January.
Early reports are excellent from the few customers I spoke with tonight.
