Re: 73" DLP or projector for HD
Well I think I can help you out on this one. I just added a optima hd70 projector to my mans room (basement). I also have a 50' samsung dlp. I was thinking of upgrading to a bigger unit and thats when i decided to add the projector (far bigger image for the money. I was going to spend about 3000 for a 61' samsung. I decided to add the projector with a motorized screen that drops down in front of my current dlp set when I want a bigger image for movie, and the big game. I had about 10 guys over for the Michigan game yesterday and the projector was a hit. Two of my friends went home and started ordering components for there projetor setup (lol). I spent 1000 for the projector and 200.00 for a 84' remote motorized screen on ebay (new in the box). the one down side is that projectors work best in dark rooms or low light like a basement. If you plan on putting a projector in a room with a lot of direct light I would say make sure you keep a second tv in the room. the room size sound great for a projector though. you could get well over a 100' image. Good luck I home this helps
