Re: Phillips announces BDP9000

Looks like the Sony, Pioneer, Philips and Samsung war machine is starting to take shape... Media Marketing blitzkrieg in July, followed by stand alone players launch in August and September, "firmware" releases in October, PS3 Launch in November and another Media Marketing campaign in December.

Panasonic, Hitachi and LG are waiting as reserves. Let's hope the $1000 sticker shock doesn't cripple this army. If Blu-Ray players can get to $600 by next summer, they might be able to win that decisive victory.

Damn that PS3 at $600. Good thing it won't be a factor in the format war ...

Panasonic has already a announced player. Sharp has confirmed they'll have a player out "this fall".
