SP3 or Monarchy SM70 for Ref 10

Hey everyone, i am going to convert my 2chnl strata mini setup to a 5.1 HT setup for my living room. As i already have the Ref 1's to compliment the rear, i dont have the Ref 100 center.

If any of you want to let go of your Ref 100, let me know. I have a Onix SP3 amp that i used for 3-4 months that i would love to trade for it. I also bought some new 6922 tubes for it from av123.

I also have dual Monarchy Audio Original SM-70 amp (retailed for 700 each). Each monoblock delivers 75 watts of pure class A power to your speakers. Great for Ref 1.8 and ref 1 speakers, and even the Rockets. Tried on a pair of Rocket RS250, and it bought the sound to a whole other level as compared to my parasound 1000A amp. The amp won many, and i mean many awards from england and the US, and had a great reputation in Hong Kong.

anyways your choice, either a pair of SM-70, or the SP3 amp. They both sound different, if you ask which one i like better.....i say the SM-70 cuz power is amazing for less effiecent speaker, and it will make your speaker sing in harmony in moderate size rooms. However, the SP3 is a bit different in tonal, and a little bit warmer and lush. I guess its almost a tie.

here are the reviews for the SM70:

The SP3 was used for the Ref 1, and the SM70 monos were for the Mini's. I am now going to either get a big fat 200watt MPS-1 or a big fat 200watt stereo amp to power the rest of the system.

SP3 amp trade is for LOCALS only as i dont have the box, and its a delicate item to ship. MD.VA.DC for SP3. I can ship the Monarchy amps as i still have the orignal packaging and will be double BOXed.

you can reach me at 443-756-6341, or kinnithy@yahoo.com

TRADE MUST BE DONE WITH A REPUTABLE AUDIOGON/AV123 MEMBER ONLY!
