WTB: Cheap dvd player that reads recordable dvd

I'm specifically lookiong for one of the Sungale 8500 players, or a knock off. One of these super cheap players with region hacks, PAL>NTSC, MP3 playback and plays DVD-R, -RW, +R, +RW.

I don't know what all models are out there at this point-- but if anyone has of of these cheap HK specials and would part with it for $30-40 (or know where I can find them this cheap), drop me a line.

spend the extra money and get the Philips 727 at amazon.com for $69 and free shipping. You won't regret it.

the Philips 727

Does it have the region free hack, PAL>NTSC conversion, MP3 playback, etc, etc, etc? I'm not familir with this player, but I'm looking for something to hook to a old 13 inch TV with RF inputs for watching stuff while I'm hitting the treadmill- just wanted to have the ability to read as many formats as possible.

You can make it region free with the remote. One time and thats it. You can select individual regions if you need to (ie. RCE). It plays just about everything, MP3, -R/+R -RW/+RW. Although I've only tried -R and -RW. It correctly converts PAL->NTSC.

Dude,

go to ebay and pick up s Daewoo player. Easy hacked and great units.

I have the 5800 and been awsome.

If you have a SAMS Club membership go to Sams and pickup there $39.00 daewoo dvd player. It is region-free and hack it for MV free.
My Daewoo plays everything I throw at it. Flawless!!

The Sungales can be found at Microcenter. I think they were $50.

Vince - you should try www.dvdrhelp.com and look under DVD players. That site is pretty much a necessity if you're doing research on dvd players and their features.
