Get into separates with this bargain!

For sale a Sherwood Newcastle AVP-9080R, the unit is in mint condition, and includes original box, remote (unused) & manuals. Pictures are available.

Some of the specs:
The AVP-9080R drop down panel elegantly hides seldom-used, but conveniently-placed controls.

Five A/V inputs in the rear (and one in front) are all S-Video capable. The DVD input can be switched to Component Video in & out.

• DTSฎ Decoder Built-in
• Dolby Digital (AC-3) Decoder Built-in
• RD Demodulator for Laser Discs Built-in
• 20-bit A to D and D to A converters
• Dolby Pro Logic Surround
• Dolby 3 Stereo
• RD, Co-ax, and Optical Digital Inputs
• On Screen Display (OSD)
• Universal Illuminated Remote Control with Subwoofer Level, Satellite Dish, DSS, VCR, Tape, TV, Cable Box & Mega CD Control
• Programmable Video Input Labeling

• Bass Management for Center, Main & Surround Speakers
• 4 DSP Modes
• 6 Pre-Amp Outputs (Left, Center, Right, L. Surround, R. Surround, Sub)
• 5 A/V Inputs - Including "S" Video
• DVD Input with switchable Component Video in and out
• 6 Channel direct Input
• 6 Audio Inputs
• Switchable Moving Coil/Moving Magnet Phono Input
• Front Panel A/V Input - Including "S" Video

• Direct Frequency Input
• Preset Scan
• 30 Station Presets (Random)
• Digi-Link™III
• Auto Function One-Touch Operation
• Digital Encoder Volume Control
• Multi-Room Remote Control Input
• 24K Gold Input/Output Jacks
• System Illumination
• Sleep Timer
• Aluminum Front Panel

Please note that the unit comes with the popular universal remote (aka Home Theater Master SL-9000) found on many of the other high end processors.

This is in excellent condition and the only reason I am parting with it is because I purchased a Theta Casablanca.

I'm asking $425 or best offer. (it sells for $1200 new!!)

Thanks for looking.

Just to answer a bunch of the questions I've been getting. This preamp does have a 6 channel analog pass through. This is perfect for outboard D/A's or using SACD's and DVD-A's.

This is a great preamp, and at that price, it's a bargain!

BTW, I've heard this on several different systems at various audio stores and this is a great budget pre-amp that does 2-channel quite well.

Thanks for the reply, Robert, I primarily buy my equipment for how well it does music. I just use the Home theater angle to get spousal approval.

Either in stereo or Surround sound, this is one impressive preamp. It rivals others in the $1200 - $3000 range and is an excellent way to get into separates.

Price drop to $400, otherwise it's going to ebay.
