Just butting in... I haven't used the 7.1 but I recently replaced a Sound Blaster Live! in my system with M-Audio's Audiophile card. YIPES! Night and day difference!!

M-Audio makes excellent cards. If you think your blaster already sounds good enough, an M-Audio card will blow it away.
