Re: A new look for HTF.........

I use the White Skin as a default, so I have not even seen the Simpsons skin. Like someone said above, if it bothers you, switch to White Skin.

Just kidding. I'm scared to change the skin since the great WAP-land incident of September 2007. I like the change up though, be curious to see what else we can get in the future.

REPLY FROM OWNER

You know, I always try to be very polite and professional
when responding to complaints in this forum. After all, we
invite your suggestions and understand that we may have some
good ol' criticism thrown our way when we do something out
of the "ordinary."

The staff and I have been reading your forum posts over the past
12 hours regarding our new forum skin and are just shaking our
heads in disbelief over the sort of comments some of you are making.

Now permit me to say something rather unprofessional.....

ARE YOU GUYS FOR REAL?!

You know, Parker and I have been very excited for the past few
weeks about working with Twentieth Century Fox Home Video on
both their release of The Simpsons Movie and their huge
event in Manhattan today.

We thought it would be cool to skin our forum in yellow and
blue. We even took all precautions necessary by putting up an
announcement about what we were doing.

I suppose some of you didn't bother to read the announcement.
Others, I sort of sense that they did and just decided to complain
about our color scheme anyway. One person even had the audacity
to tell people how to turn it off.

I sit here wondering where is everyone's sense of humor? Can't
you see what we are doing here for the next three days and possibly
show a little appreciation for the fact that we are doing something
rather "cool" and "unique?"

I don't want to come across as seeming upset. The staff and I are
actually more puzzled by these responses than anything else.

....and we chose to honor The Simpsons in this manner
because one, Fox is the ONLY studio that invites HTF to Press
events like these and we are proud to go the extra mile to provide
the best coverage we can......and two, what better way to skin a
forum than with colors that speak well for the subject it honors.

Really, we would love to do more cool themes like this in the
future, but if people are going to complain, perhaps we'll just
think twice about doing this sort of thing again.

Re: A new look for HTF.........

Ron, I understand your intent. However, for me, looking at the Simpsons skin is like having to stare into a strobe light. You can do it for a few seconds, but you have to turn away because your eyes hurt. That shade of yellow is killer.

Maybe my monitor isn't calibrated very well. Hmm...perhaps an ISF calibration would solve this?

The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

Re: A new look for HTF.........

I don't know if I'm the audacious person, or if you meant the guy who originally mentioned that White Skin is unaltered, but I didn't even know about the yellow until I read about it here since I've always used White. If you don't want people to be able to turn it off, alter the White as well. Problem solved.

The first thing I saw were the donuts, and they didn't bother me. I did not see the sticky at first, though. I don't know what you can do about that, but the information there changes infrequently, so I don't tend to look in that area too often.

ha haaa, I'm kinda enjoying the "MY EYES MY EYES!" posts

It's a fun change. You should leave it as a selectable skin, it's pretty easy to read the posts.

Maybe people have the briteness to high on their monitors XD

Re: A new look for HTF.........

People keep mentioning "the donuts"...but I don't see them. Where are they? The only donuts I see are in the banner ads for The Simpsons Movie at the top of each page.

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!
