Re: What's Going On?

We had a major hard drive failure.

What we lost and what can be recovered is not known at this hour.

Obviously we are back online now. We will be restoring features
throughout the day and will have more information for all of you
as soon as it becomes available to us.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Re: What's Going On?

Tony,

Absolutely did.

Same hosting company too, which is quite scary.

Not sure yet if they backed up everything. Last time they said they
did anddidn't. I wouldn't be too surprised if history repeats
itself.

sorry to hear that.

sounds like good reason to break from these folks to a new host.
i wonder if this is legitimate grounds for ending the contract.

Re: What's Going On?

Trust me, we are looking.

SPEEDHOST (our current provider) was rated amongst the best
out there. Even AVS uses them.

Not sure where we go from here.

No obvious losses that I can see so far, but the site is positively crawling right now on my end. Access is still sporadic.

Maybe having your own server would work out best? At least you can backup the site whenever you want.

Re: What's Going On?

Thanks for keep us updated, Ron! Good luck to Parker on the repairs.

The forum sure is responding slowly tonight.

EDIT** I should be grateful, though...since the web server status page says the server is up but the forum is down!

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Re: What's Going On?

I'm browsing on slightly off peak hours and I'm not seeing any slowdown or degradation in the server response times. I would suspect there is a higher level of traffic today given that the site was down yesterday. That would be my first guess as to what may be causing some of the peak hour slowdown. People really need there HTF fix.

I don't want to talk out of turn here so please shoot me down if I am, but would extra cash flow help in mitigating some of these probl
