Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!
In the User Control Panel, as of today, there are "Local Weather" and "Local TV Listings" panels that push my subscriptions list down the page. I see I can hide them, but is there a way to customize this? I'm ok with hiding them, but is there a way to get rid of the completely?

Mike - this will probably sound stupid, but as for MS Word, it doesn't make any hard CR's unless you hit the Enter key.
If you are sending it to a text only format, couldn't you save it as a "text" only type file first?

Glenn:
Well, in a thread like the Weekly RoundUp there are a number of instances when I need to make a hard return.
When I use the simple text editor, the post looks fine. It's when I paste it into the WYSIWYG version of the message editor that I run into the problems of the extra baggage.
Unless I'm not understanding your point...which, considering my limited capacity in understanding this procedure, is entirely possible!
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!
Parker:
I was wondering if it would be possible when reading through a thread to have some kind of indicator showing you where you are in the big scheme of things.
For instance, let's say I'm reading one of the official review threads. At any given instance, I scroll to the next post and see (in the upper right-hand corner of the post) that I am reading Post #9. Nowhere does it say (except back on the Index Page) how many total posts are in the thread. It could be "Post #9 of 12"...or "Post #9 of 576".
The "Page 10 of 11" prompts at the bottom of the page help to indicate that there are more posts to follow. But, I just think it might be helpful to see that I was, indeed, reading "Post # 9 of 576" to let me know I had a long way to go.
I've been trying to remember if that function existed in the old software...but can't be sure. It's short-term memory loss like that which also counts for my inability to remember the number of total posts in a thread when I click on it from the Index page.

Mike and george can you send me links to what you are talking about?
Mike, et al.
If you go to the User Control Panel > Edit Options towards the bottom of the middle column under Misc. Options you will see a list of all the forum areas. From there highlight and hold down your Ctrl key at the same time to exclude those forum areas you don't want to see on the main page.

Parker: Awesome! Look forward to checking out the new set-up! You are definitely da man! Hope you haven't become aspirin-dependent!
I'm off to change my Message editor to WYSIWYG and will post a Weekly RoundUp test over in the Testing forum. Give me a few minutes.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!
Okay, Parker:
Here is the thread which I just posted over in Testing to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. This is an MS Word document posted into the new thread box with the fancy-schmancy WYSIWYG Message Editor used:

Here is what this week's "normal" Weekly RoundUp looks like. Notice the absence of little green men sticking out their tongues! This was also an MS Word document pasted into a new thread box--but using the simple text Message Editor:

Thanks for looking into this.
