Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!
I just tried to report a spammer post but when I clicked on the report bad post button I was told I didn't have access privileges to report the post.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!
First, apologies to Packy and Ron.
Thanks to Mike, Tony & Mark
When I would click on HTF, a Real Player box would open in the upper center of my screen. I assumed (yeah, I know), that HTF had somehow incorporated some kind of new video message as part of their ongoing software changes, like the thread title preview.
Today, it did not happen.
I would appreciate it if someone could explain what Real Player taking control of MIME means.
Again, apologies to Packy and Ron, and thanks to Mike, Tony, and Mark.

When new applications are installed, they often like to associate particular file extensions with their program.
This happens to me a lot when updating/installing QuickTime. I usually keep all of my JPEG and GIF's to deafult to my browser, but QuickTime will often hijack those extensions and open them up in QuickTime.
It was just a guess, but perhaps there is some animation on the page, or HTML code that Real Player has "hijacked" and tries to launch the player whenever you view a page.
I'm not sure how to tell you you to solve this if it has actaully happened, but it was just a theory on my part.

Arthur - (XP User?) Right click Start, pick Explore. When that pane opens up, select Tools, and then Folder Options. Hit File Types (on the right) and go down to MME - or whatever else. You can remove any extension, or change what opens with it to anything you want to.

I thought it was when your Real Player comes up with everything being white and you just see hands moving around the edges of the player.

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!
OK guys, here is what happened. The Real Player window was opening to tell me that an upgrade was available to download. O'course, when I tried to download it I got an unresovable error message, so I went to the Real Player site and after almost getting hoodwinked into having to pay for the service, found a free download. Did that. Now I'll see if that window pops up again.
Thanks for everyone's contribution(s).
Arthur

I'm having a problem with threads not fully loading. It appears that it's hanging on a file within the Amazon.com domain (example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/associates/...etheater05-20). Everything else loads in quickly except for the above mentioned file. I'm using Safari 2.0.4 under MacOS 10.4.7.

Pages hang when they load for me too. May be related to the problems posted in the below thread:

Re: Report all forum software problems in this thread ONLY. Thank You!
I cannot really get into this forum lately. Using IE 6 it loads the page but hangs and then will not close. Well, it never finishes loading the page but it all looks ok. Then I have to do that end program thing over an over.
I tried it on 3 different computers and its doing the same thing. Using FireFox it don't hang exactly but saids waiting on "Teloo kontera.com" and it never goes away.
I can get in once and awhile, but most of the time it just hangs. But I don't really see any posts saying anything about it lately, yet its doing it on 3 different computers for me.
Anyway, I signed back in and managed to post this, just wondering what the problem is. It just started that in the last couple of days, far as I know.

I know we just got back from whatever trouble there was, so things may still be getting sorted out, but my post time is now an hour ahead. I have it set to automatically detect DST, but it's not right right now.

Yup. Hope all is okay behind-the-scenes at the ol' HTF.
Like Greg, I am an hour off of the rest of the world. Other than that...everything seems to be in its proper place.
Parker must look like this:
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!
