Why are postings reversed in their date entries??

I am new here to the forum and maybe this question has been asked before..
I posted a new post today in the "massive all-new movies poll in one of the threads, and after I submitted it I couldn't find it, until I discovered it was AT THE VERY VERY end of the posts.., over 10 pages long .
why are those posts in reverse chronilogiocal order?

I like it that way. It makes it easier to follow a discussion from beginning to end. After all, the English language is read from left-to-right and top-to-bottom.

All other message boards I have seen follow the same format.

No offense to the original poster (whose opinion I respect), but I like the current format also. It's no problem to find the most recent posts if you click on the indicator by each thread title to find the most recent post.

I actually hate it when the most recent post is first, it is counter-intuitive when reading a thread as a narrative.

Posts are listed in chronological order, with the earliest posts first. What you're asking for would be "reverse" chronological order, with the most recent posts first. I don't know if the software even provides that option, but as others have noted, all message boards work this way (at least all the ones I've seen).

Isn't that what this tool controls?
Showing threads {1 to 2 of 2}, sorted by {thread title last post time number of replies number of views thread starter} rating in {ascending descending} order, from {last visit last day ...}

No, that's the tool for sorting a thread display. There's no option to change the sort order within a thread (or if there is, I don't know about it).
