A Push To Bump Posts Per Thread From 30 to 40
Here is a thread I started on a burgeoning forum (cadillacforums):
Quote:
| With the steady growth of forum membership, replies per thread naturally increases. The forum is coming to a point where almost every thread gets at least one response, and in the future, every thread will get at least 2 responses. This phenomena leads to the more instances where threads become popular and reach beyond 20 posts. In fact, I predict that the forum will start to experience threads with 1,000+ posts. Take for example hometheaterforum.com. I've been a member for over 3 years, and I have seen their membership quadruple in that time (they are up to 45,000 members). They had 25 posts/thread at the time, and now they are up to 30 posts/thread. In fact, given the vast size and responses to the threads, they should bump it to 40. Why am I advocating all this? because I find it more comfortable to read or keep track of a thread when it is all on one page. When popular threads that might receive 10-15 replies per day suddenly balloon to 30 replies by the next day, I start to lose track of where I am. Another issue with multiple page threads is the lost audience when a thread goes onto another page especially if it is only somewhat interesting. |
And this may sound nerdy, but who has two thumbs and changed the script of the quote from QUOTE to Q?? This guy :p)
