Tony:

As with the others that have posted about this problem it is related to you having an AOL account for your email. AOL, Earthlink and others have gotten more aggressive in their filtering of what they consider to be spam email. You have to email the guys at AOL that you want to allow emails from hometheaterforum.com to be allowed into your mailbox before you will get them again.

What about when someone press the 'email' button in an individual message to send that person a message? Is that also routed through hometheaterforum.com and need to be allowed into mailbox too? The reason I'm asking this is that someone told me he's trying to reply to the email message I sent to him using the 'email' button in his message. But I haven't any email from him directly or through hometheaterforum.com. BTW, my email account registered here is on hotmail.com.

It shouldn't matter, because the message will still be listed as being sent from the email address listed at HTF for the sender. That's why there's a note on the message entry screen that "by using this form, your email address will become available to the user who you are emailing".

Hotmail has also become more aggressive about filtering lately. Have you checked your "bulk" mail?

Hotmail, AOL, Earthlink and more have all gotten very aggressive in their campaigns against what they consider SPAM and you have to be vigilant in looking at your "SPAM" folders and make sure that mail that you should be getting is not getting thrown into those folders. If you still aren't getting the email you may need to get ahold of your service provider and let them know what email addresses that you want to be allowed through.

Mail that is sent by you to another member from the forum is still sent to them as if you sent it to them as usual.

Parker,

You can add Verizon.net to that list. I have sent 7 emails and made 2 phone calls on the issue. I have gotten no where to this point, but still working the issue. I'll report when I hear something solid.

The two clues I have found to date that trigger the "Spam" filters are:

The "noreply" as the senders name,
The messages are sent to multiple addressees (which I think are suppressed to all but the receiver - though, since mine are blocked, I have no message to verify that)

Would you consider changing the email address for forum thread auto-emails to something other than noreply@hometheaterforum.com. Could you use something like, but not limited to:

thread.follower@hometheaterforum.com
your.thread@hometheaterforum.com
htf.thread@hometheaterforum.com

Of course, that doesn't release the multiple addressee problem. Apparently, there is some cut-off number where the filter says "That many people for one message, I don't think so."

Anyway, very frustrating. I'm still working the issue. On the good side, I get no Spam. Yippee!
