Moderator Activity

Assuming that moderator's have access to user profile information, I would like to suggest that all moderator's activities that pertain to HTF housecleaning issues (redirecting, thread consolidation, etc.) be directed to the recipient’s private email opposed to being added to the thread discussion.

Thank you.

Personally I like most of the housecleaning issues addressed 'in-thread.' As an example, in the past I have been reading through a thread and I find that people are repeating each other and/or being redundant, only to read on and find that it is a merged thread. That explains the lack of flow to the conversation and puts people back on the same page.

Just my thoughts...

Tim, Your thoughts are good, even though I can see your example being handled in the subject heading. I am referring to moderator comments that could be perceived as publicly humiliating.

Thanks for your comment.

I've never seen any comments that would be humiliating, unless simply having your thread locked is humiliating. Putting comments "in-thread" helps to 1. Inform readers as to why the thread was closed/or the person warned for behavior and 2. Possibly point out a rules violation that said readers may not be aware of.
