Re: HD DVD player updates
Super news, Adam. Many thanks! My Summer's-End Party is the 22nd.
I'll be on pins and needles hoping at least one player arrives at least a few hours before, so I can integrate it and SHARE the joy with my friends.
Get this...
I bought an Ultra from Ron(SVS), while we were in LV.
EMA throws us 2 fantastic players.
I figure I'd better step up my receiver to stay HDMI/7.1 current, so the
Integra 7.8 now powers the speakers and sends signal to the SVS.
But the kicker is my roomie's old Mitsu RPTV up and dying, 2 weeks ago.
So, with the HD players still pending, he bought a new Mitsu 57 RP to take full advantage of all the Post-Vegas gear I basically brought home!
We're essentialy all-new, except for the speaks, but they're in great shape. So the BD and HD players are making me ache with anticipation to finally tie it ALL together. To play 300...Loud. To watch Heroes in the dark, at night. Everything in Digital A&V. I may miss a few days of work once these players arrive, but it will definitely be something to hear and see.
Thank you Adam!
Thank you, Ron!
Thank you EMA!,
and
Thank you HTF, for being the most rewarding place I've spent time online for nearly 10 years!!
Regards,
Matt

Wow, Transformers, Knocked Up, and a TBD title. Awesome!! I can now cancel my Knocked Up pre-order at Amazon. Thanks so much for letting us know. Looking forward to getting them.

Re: HD DVD player updates
Cool. Sounds like a double double dip to me for Knocked up and Heroes, maybe I will do some kind of HTF contest or something for those two titles since Uni has provided me with a Heroes for review and I'm on the list for the same with KU!

Re: HD DVD player updates
Speaking of HEROES.... has anyone recived their copy yet? Is it being shipped with the players?
You are all probably aware of that particular feeling you get while browsing in your favorite video store and holding the HEROES box in your hand....

Matt,
I know how you feel.....Myself, I'm updating My Yamaha RX-V2400 receiver probably with the new RX-V1800 7.1 channel receiver coming out this month which includes four 1.3a HDMI inputs, 8-channel (7.1) external decoder inputs with all the new DTS and Dolby HD loseless audio incarnations, as well as full HD 1080p video upscaling and 120 and 24 Hz refresh rates. All of this for ~ $1,300 list price. Waiting on reviews and availability info, as well as any info our guys (Adam, Ron, RAF, etc.) at CEDIA can provide.

Re: HD DVD player updates
Do you know how these are being shipped? UPS? FedEx? USPS? I'm also going to be out of town at the end of this week so I'm concerned about them sitting on my doorstep for a few days before I return.

Re: HD DVD player updates
Are they coming from Minnesota?
Cause I can see Minnesota from the roof of my house.
Okay, not so much but it's only a 5 hour drive to Minnesota, so, hey, you know, could come quite soon.
Edit*
I'm not even entirlely sure why I would thinkt that they would come from Minnesota but it sure sounds good.
My expectations on Jurassic Park in HD. I better fricken BE THERE!
