Re: HD DVD player updates
about that lucky stroke?! I received 2 packages, totalling 4 HDDVD's today. YAY!
Elizabeth
Last Starfighter
Knocked Up
Transformers
and...
Ken's (thoughtful) Letter
Wow.
thanks so much, guys. HTF EMA Vegas has been the "Trip that Keeps on Giving!" since July!!. I think, finally, we're done with the swag.
BD and HD really ponied up to the EMA attendees, with special considerations for HTF. Make the most of it team. It's not so often (for most of us) that anyone would give such valuable gifts to us. I'm eager to sit down and watch each movie and contribute to the expansion of the HD formats.
See you at the movies!
Regards,
Matt

Re: HD DVD player updates
Matt, would you post your Transformers shipping details por favor? What date did it ship, from where (Paramount in Hollywood, CA or from some other company in a different location) and via what means (FedEx Ground? UPS Ground?)? Thanks.

Re: HD DVD player updates
Both packages were next day.
3 discs and letter, from Archway in MN, by Fedex.
Transformers by UPS from someone in Seattle.
Bother were in larger "Letter/Document" envelopes.
Not boxed.
Yes, all UPCs were destroyed, except Transformers.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Matt

Re: HD DVD player updates
Thx, Matt.
Are you sure about Next Day (versus Ground or UPS 3-Day Select)? I would think way more people would have received both the Universal trio and Trans by now if they were shipped for overnight delivery last week.
In Cali here and still no Knocked, Liz or Rogan.

Re: HD DVD player updates
Howdy!
Wish these delivery folks would get their act together and find the (what seems fairly obvious to me) front door. Then, some knocking on it would also be good! :-)
Anyway, went out this morning to feed the birds and let the dog out for a jaunt in the great wide open and there, on the ground by the side gate, was a very slightly torn FedEx package! Perhaps, that's what they mean by ground shipping. ... Chortle!
Yes, it was one of those cardboard "Express" envelopes that was mentioned before. It says "Ground" on the delivery sticker. Found out through FedEx tracking that it arrived last night at 5:49 PM, probably while we were in the midst of watching the Blu-ray of "Deja Vu" (From J&R. Thanks, again, Winston). Glad the coyotes didn't drag it away. :-)
So, I now have "Knocked Up," Elizabeth," and "The Last Starfighter" with the UPC labels beautifully gouged (but quite playable, I'm sure), along with a nice "Thank you" letter from Ken Graffeo. No! Thank you, Ken!
So, now, that just leaves Transformers. Weehaa. There wasn't anything posted about who the first 23 receiving it would be, right?
By the way, for anyone wanting to know where deliveries are happening, I live in Lucerne Valley, about 125 miles out of Los Angeles in a very rural desert area.
By the way #2, I also got a Frys.com package earlier yesterday with 6 HD titles in it. The DHL person actually came to the front door and knocked! Whatta concept! ;-)
Have to look into things a bit. The last 20 or so minutes of Deja Vu had slight syncing problems. Didn't feel like messing around with it at the time, but will soon play that part again to see if it straightens itself out.
Toodles;
Kento
