A head's up for those with roommates
Paul S. checked our room reservation and discovered that we were signed up for a room with 1 king sized bed. I know that I put 2 Queens on the form. When I called the Venetian to change our reservation to 2 beds, they upped our rate to $149 + tax. We're going to call Grace Lee on Monday to see what's up with our increased room rate.
Anyway I just wanted to give ya'll a head's up that you might want to call the Venetian and check your room status. Otherwise it could get awkward.
Here's the number for the Venetian - 866-659-9643

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
Thanks for the heads-up. I'm bunking with Cameron Yee and the reservation is in his name, so I forwarded your note to him so he can check it out.
I wouldn't mind the screw-up about the beds as long as they correct it, but jacking up the price by $30/night doesn't cut it! I'll let you know what they tell Cameron.

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
Here is the situation regarding the rooms....
If you guys indicated DUAL BEDS on your application and submitted
it prior to the deadline (I think June 17) and did not get what you asked
for, then this is the fault of EMA and we may have a good fight here.
However.....
If you didn't indicate dual beds and now past the deadline this is
what you want, then you are out of luck. Room rates are now $149
for anything other than a King bed.
Also, realize, there is a pull-out couch in the suite. If worst comes
to worst, there are other sleeping accommodations.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
Gregory,
I am sitting here at the airport waiting for my plane to board.
I can easily roll off a letter to Sandra and Grace concerning your
room and the rate that you were charged.
I'll send the both of you a copy of the email I send out. If this
is not resolved by the time you check in, come see me and I
will pursue this matter further.

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
Grace had changed mine from a double to a single a couple of weeks ago and forwarded the new confirmation with the lower rate to me. Earlier this week, The Venetian sent me an email confirmation at the higher rate. Grace said that I needed to deal directly with the hotel. I called them and they couldn't find anything about changing it to a single. The reservationist spoke to someone, changed it to a single and honored the lower rate.

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
I called and the rep told me the bed arrangements are determined at check in based on the contract, but he offered to place a request for two queens on there. I didn't think about whether the rate would change but we can deal with that when we get there. I have no problem sleeping on a pullout if it comes to that - I've been doing some form of it for the last two weeks!

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
I just checked in and they dropped this bomb on me. I specifically requested two beds and to be quite honest my current situation does not make a single bed an option. Please keep me posted on anything I can do to help get this resolved. 9084617181 if any attendees get any traction on this!
We arent moving out of the double and if I have to eat the extra $200 for the week I will, but it's been a sucky start here given this, the $10 a day for the internet, the internet NOT allowing me the pleasure of giving them the $10 to actually pull this page up and bitch about it....
Fortunately, I've found a really helpful IT guy here and he got me started. If anyone has any questions about using the service call the it dept direct at 44170...
OK, done venting, got a sammich coming for me then its off to explore and maybe gamboooool a little!

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
OK, adding to the list, I just punched in a code to the room safe to set it, put my cash into it, tried to punch the code to test and open it again and now ANY keypress gives me an Error 102 message. LMAO I ope I'm using up all my bad luck here! They've dispatched an engineer to come help me out I think!

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
After reading this, I called Venetian reservations and confirmed my reservation. I am alone in my room so I wanted to make sure they had me down for a single King bed. That way, I don't unnecessarily take a double bed room away from people who are sharing.
She did say that my reservation already had a King requested so I'm good there. this confirmed to me that they did go by what was stated on the reservation form we faxed/emailed to grace.

Re: A head's up for those with roommates
I have confirmed that I have with me the form I faxed to Grace, and I have the emailed confirmation from Grace, and I do have two beds requested and nowhere on my confirmation does it note that I have been switched to a single King nor any indication of a price increase to two beds.
The safe is repaired, make sure you hold the door closed as you punch in the codes to set AND open it. The engineer said some are set to keep using the old code unless specifically changed and some are set to require a new code each time, so be careful!
Mini fridge is in the house, not sure if I'm gonna do a grocery/Frys run tonight, we are pretty wiped, gonna head to the pool for a bit.
Just blew $50 playing 1-2 no limit holdem. So my streak is continuing. The poker room is VERY small by AC/Vegas standards, and I didnt see but one (crappy asian poker variant) table game with a minimum bet under $15. Doesnt look like I'll be playing more than my match play $15 here.
