Re: HTF REVIEW: Date Movie - Unrated
Does the unrated disc also have the theatrical version, or is that only on the separate one? I usually like these kind of movies but they only work if you've seen all the movies they're spoofing, since I don't work at a theater anymore I haven't seen most of the ones that it looks like they're spoofing in this one.

Re: HTF REVIEW: Date Movie - Unrated
The unrated version is available separate from the rated version.

Re: HTF REVIEW: Date Movie - Unrated
Let me say that your review empahsised on everything I felt that was wrong with "Date Movie." It relied far too much on parodies of comedies and quite a few of them dragged on forever. Even one of the moments I was looking forward to (the "Kill Bill" one) started funny but after what seemed like 5 minutes of the same bit done over and over I found myself just like the rest of the film... rolling my eyes in embarrasement and checking my DVD player in seeing how much closer I was towards the end.
As far as the unrated cut vs the PG-13 the unrated is a whole minute longer. Honestly I didn't see much of anything that they couldn't of gotten away with at PG-13. I didn't bother watching any of the extras. I was running to the DVD player the second the credits started to roll so I could throw in ANY DVD I could grab within a few seconds so I could wipe this aweful movie out of my head. What DVD did I grab? "Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii." ![]() |

Re: HTF REVIEW: Date Movie - Unrated
I actually saw this the other day (hey, someone else paid for the rental). Pretty lame -- it was a gag-a-minute, so they did manage a few laughs, but not enough to make up for the mostly cruddy material.
I only got to hear a little bit of the anti-commentary, but I wouldn't mind listening to the rest of it sometime. What a great idea! BTW, there was absolutely NOTHING in the "unrated" cut that would have deserved an 'R' rating. Re: HTF REVIEW: Date Movie - Unrated
Oh, and Grant's last name in the film is not actually "Funkyerdoder." There's no 'n' in it (say it out loud; the 'o' is pronounced "aw"). Ha ha.
