Toshiba 50HM67 65" DLP Screen dirt???

I have a slightly glaring/annoying problem. I have unfortunately, 20/10 eyesight which although is very good, is also very bad because I can pick up the smallest image imperfections without even trying!! My DLP set has somehow gotten some dust/dirt of some sort between the protective outer screen and the screen itself. Is there any way to remove the outer screen to clean it out?? It's absolutely killing me!! I try so hard not to notice it and no matter how hard I try, I still find myself looking dead at that damn spot!! Please chime in w/some advice.

no problems. Pull it apart and clean it.
Be very aware that since you are not in a sterile environment you may be introducing more dirt then you will be removing.
Perhaps your extended warranty will cover it (part of the cleaning service) ??

Good luck!!

Is there any special method to take it apart? Or just find all the screws and have at it? I have no warranty. It was a floor demo unit, hence the reason I got it for only $1200......lol.

Lamp has dust on it...clean with appropriate cloth that will not leave more dust on lamp.

Re: Toshiba 50HM67 65" DLP Screen dirt???

Ok, I took the screen part apart today. I found out that somehow, dirt of some sort was wedged inbetween the protective outer screen and the inner lens/screen. After I separated them, I of course tried to clean them. The projector lens was indeed dirty, so I took the liberty of cleaning it w/a good duster. My problem now is I tried to clean the outside surface of the inner lens/screen and apparently, it's a very delicate piece. I don't know what it was that was stuck to it, but it took some effort getting it of. I used a damp cotton towel and rubbed it off. In so doing, I messed up the outside surface of the screen. I need a replacement!! Does anyone know where I can buy that part for this set?
