Connectivity Problems. Please Help.

I just bought a Panasonic TH-50PX75U and I am very happy with it's performance. I was, however, shocked to find only 1 RF antenna connector since it has a built in digital tuner.

I have Dish that comes over channel 73 and I would also like to use an OTA antenna for HD. I got a remote control AB box but these two sources don't seem to be able to co-exist on the same tuner. If I do a channel set up for the antenna, then the dish won't work and vice versa. I do have one of the newer LG DVD players with a built it digital tuner. So yes, I could run this in line with the antenna and just use the tuner on the DVD for my HD channels. I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible, plus my perception is that the TVs tuner is better than the DVDs. Might be my imagination.

We have the Dish 522 dual receiver that does not have HDMI but it does have S-Video. Could I use S-Video for Dish and then the RF connector for my antenna? Would the one tuner now be compatible? My wife has two RF antenna inputs on her plazma and has no troubles.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dave

You can use S-vid for Dish but I would suggest upgrading to a new Dish receiver. You will see a HUGE difference in quality with HDMI.

Someone else will be able to help with the possible Inline DVD player.

Good Luck!

Thanks Doug. The distance from the receiver to the TV is about 40 feet. Would I need a signal booter with hdmi?

That is a very long distance for HDMI, I would say yes to the siganl booster. Someone should chime in shortly with a firm answer for you.

You could also consider using Component which can handle a run that long. It won't carry the audio but the picture will be close to or as good as HDMI.
