Green horizontal streaks through (FP) projected image: what's the deal?
Hey everyone,
I recently moved apartments, which meant my projector (Epson TW700 [810]) moved along with me. I think I set it up in a similar manner (I only switched back to my DIY screen with blackout material), but now, when I play black and white dvd's (or see light color patterns) I often see faint greenish (horizontal) streaks running through my picture (I saw it both in Roman Holiday and Modern Times). It's somewhat annoying, and I haven't noticed it in my previous place. What do you think the problem could be? The lines/streaks are usually stable, and I can see about 17 of them from top to bottom.
I figure it must be something in the settings, set-up, screen, or a combination of factors. I tried switching to component (I normally use hdmi), but it doesn't help. (I also think I have more visible grain this time around, but that's probably unrelated to the streaks).
Any ideas?
EDIT: I just found out it's not a problem with the pj itself, at least. I hooked up my dvd player to my tv and the streaks were still there. So it must be either the player or there is indeed some problem with the wiring, grounding, or outlets in my apartment that will always cause displays (connected to dvd players) to output these green lines (in greyish images).
Cheers,
Bart.
