This week Ken McAlinden reviews Albert Lewin's MGM adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, a highly awaited release that gets notable recommendation. Magnavox 32"?

I just went ahead and jumped on the 32" Magnavox LCD at Circuit City (32MF231D) for $700. This is my first LCD and my first HDTV (coming from a magnavox 27" crt). I've done some research about what I want in a TV, I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this TV in particular. I know there have been some not-so-good reviews about the sound of the TV, but that doesn't matter, I won't be using the TV speakers anyway. I'm just hoping I don't regret the purchase...

I was going for that same TV during Black friday. I think it's the same model# but not sure anymore. They had a door buster price of 499 last friday. You shouldn't have any problems with using as a monitor. I don't know about the speakers as I wasn't concerned with that aspect either.

You should be just fine!
