Stand for JVC HD-61FN97

After much research I am getting really close to pulling the trigger on a JVC HD-61FN97 HDTV, but I don't want to spend a lot on the stand. I've seen stands for $400+, but that's just too much! Around $150 to $300 would be acceptable. I've tried searching this site and others, but I can't find many options. Any suggestions for stands for 61" HDTVs or sites that sell them?

Many thanks!
Pete

Sorry for going above your budget, but its only by a few dollars.

I have this for my 52" HD-ILA and I couldn't be happier with it. If you are going to be using it hold audio equipment along with a satelitte/cable box this will work perfect.

$368 delivered.

Best Buy also has a stand for it priced at $288.

Re: Stand for JVC HD-61FN97

Hello Brian! Your comment would be most welcome!
I noticed your system comprises of two Marantz products! Currently, I am in the process of evaluating a new A/V receiver and an up-converting universal DVD player to go with my 1080p HDTV. For receiver, I have narrowed down my choices to either the Denon AVR-2307CI or the Marantz SR5001 XM ready AV receiver. As for the up-conversion DVD player, I have difficulty in deciding on either the Marantz DV6600 or the Denon DVD-1930CI universal player. Brian, what made you choose the Marantz?! Audio quality, video quality, price, reputation....?! Did you by chance audition any Denon products and compared them with Marantz before purchasing? At first, I was inclined to choose both Denon units since they both up-convert to 1080p whilst the Marantz only up-convert to components. However, a few forum members' posting commented that the Marantz audio quality is better and that their video quality is pretty good as well. Now, I am totally lost!

Re: Stand for JVC HD-61FN97

I am a rank amatuer when it comes to knowing the difference between things. I ended up with Marantz after a couple of local higher end audio shops suggested Marantz Receivers for my price range and what I was going to be doing with it.

My requirements were the ability to run 5.1 and expand to 7.1 in the future, and run a second zone with different program material. My system is also mostly for music. Started out about 90/10 music vs. movies and is now about 80/20 after the addition of the HD-ILA and Panny DVD player.

As far as all that upconverting goes, I don't know anything about it. I have the Panny hooked up directly to the HD-ILA via HDMI and the audio is ran through the Marantz via optical cable.

Price was a deciding factor as well. The Marantz products were priced well within my range, and they don't seem to have a million bells and whistles that I will never use. Though the SR5600 likely has far more stuff than I will ever use, and currently don't know how or why I would use it. I turn it on, set it to what I am using (TV, DVD, CD) and away I go.

Also, several co-workers who are AV geeks suggested them after seeing a list of recommended receivers and I trust their advice.

I have been very happy and have no complaints.

Though the overall best purchase in the whole thing has been the SVS.

I am quite happy with my HD-ILA as well. Though mine is a 720P. I am not serious enough to go for the 1080P. And I gambled with my wife. I wanted the 61" and she the 52" so I made a deal with her, when the 32" CRT in the bedroom dies, the 52" goes there (its a 500 sq ft bedroom so it will work) and I get to buy the TV of my choice (61" 1080P most likely if it happens soon). But here's the gamble, the CRT might make it another 3 months or 10 years! Who knows. But for me, a 1080P at this time was an expenditure of money that could be better spent on other things.

As far as why I got a marantz CD player? My only real requirements were that it be a 5 disc (I am too disorganized for one of those 300 or 400 disc players) and preferably be black. Marantz met those, and I had a Marantz receiver, so why not match up the CD player. Really, that was my decision making process.

Yikes! I've been hijacked!

I finally found a stand that fits. It's the Nea Moda Wide TV Stand (220337) at Circuit City. Less than $250.
