Choices for a new tv....
The more I look, the more questions I have about buying a new tv. The bulb life (among a few other items) of the dlp/d-ila types certainly appear to add to the cost of ownership while the old rear projection tv's I've had the past 20 years seem almost bulletproof. I guess I was thinking that the "new" technologies were advancements in quality and longevity too???? Guess not.
It just appears that manufacturers weren't making enough money with the old rear projection tvs and decided to begin making tvs that will cost money to use, kinda like putting gas in a car, right? Sure, a step sideways toward plasma is an answer but then the cost goes up too. Suddenly, staying with an old rear projection model doesn't sound like a bad thing.
