Ideal height for TV stand

I just picked up a 52" JVC rear projection TV for my basement. I'm building a custom entertainment center, and I need to know the ideal height to set the TV at. Should I set it at eye level where the center of the screen lines-up with my eyes as I am sitting down, or is there a better way to determine the height? I've noticed that the stands sold for these TV's vary in height by a few inches, so I can't necessarily go by them. Any suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated.

All other factors ignored, I personally would have the center of the TV viewing area just below typical eyelevel for a person seated in primary viewing area. But you may need to vary that upwards if you want someone seated behind the primary spot(s) to be able to see it.

Good point. Behind the couch is a half wall with a bar on the other side. Therefore, when you're seated at the bar, you'll be facing the TV too. I didn't think to take into consideration the bar seating.
