Toshiba TV model 46WM48P

Hi,

I am based in UK so dont know if this model is
familiar.

I have spoken to several people at Toshiba (UK) and was told that the lamp for

model 46WM48P back projection TV is obsolete. Has my TV is only 8 months old I find this very worrying.

I was also told by David Tindal at Toshiba that this lamp is used by all the UK models.

Does anyone have any info on this?

They have to provide lamps and replacement parts for a certain number of years after a product is discontinued here in the U.S., but I am not familure with this particular display at all.

As the set is under guarantee I have had a lamp replaced by Toshiba recently but it took almost three weeks to receive the replacement lamp.

Thats when I decided to order a spare lamp and that is
when I was told by various people at Toshiba that the
lamp was obsolete. (If anyone can suggest a lamp supplier
that can supply equivelent lamps I would be very grateful).

Meanwhile it seems that anyone who buys a Toshiba
projection TV in the UK cant get a lamp after the guarantee runs out!

I would be very interested in any comments oh this.
