32" HDTV LCD Recommendations

My Dad is looking for a flat panel TV for his bedroom, and as flat panels are something I know little about, I'm throwing myself to the mercy of everyone here.

Requirements:

He only has 33" of width to work with (so speakers on the bottom)
It will be pedestal mounted
He likes stuff built to last (and is willing to pay for it)
In case HDCP does take off, I would like the set ready for that.
Will watch a wide variety of material (4x3 SDTV, expecting both 720p and 1080i) as this is probably the most used set in the house
No brand preference
Don't care if it has a built in HDTV tuner
Will probably not have a seperate audio system, so decent speakers would be nice.

Don't know where you are going to find anything only 33 inches wide.

Sony KDL-V32XBR1 or Samsung LNR328W would likely work.

The small bit of time I've seen them together, the XBR1 has been quite impressive though the Samsung is quite a bit cheaper.

Panasonic TC-32LX50 is pretty nice as well though I'm not sure of inputs.

Sony KLV32M1 has a nice picture though I'm not a fan of the silver TV's, but with the new XBR series, the M1 is being blown out and can be obtained for 1400 at One Call.
