New Sony KDF-E42A10 (42" LCD RPTV)

It is not yet out, but this is in the running for my new TV when the time comes. I simply cannot do DLP's and out of all the LCD RPTV's I have seen, the Sony's look the best (I am no huge Sony fan, but their big TV's look nice and the lamps seem to be cheap).

I will only be sitting about 8' away, and this is basically a DVD machine, so I should be OK.

What do you think?

I read about this one about a month ago. Looks like a nice set. I hear it will be out during the summer.

OHHH! Looks like it has a 'horn' theme going on with the TV speakers. Great match for my Klipsch's!

Any idea on price? I assume $2,500.

Do you have a link to the press release?

Thanks!

I'm also in this market, but I'm still leaning towards a plasma for colors, contrast, blacks, and motion. I looked at the new Panasonic TH-42PD50U the other day, and really liked what I saw. Unfortunately, I also found out that Sony has discontinued the very well regarded KE-42M1 plasma.

If it's not worth waiting until the last minute to do, then it's not worth doing.
