Is something really great coming out in 6 months

Today at work we were discussing TVs. One collegue said that, "The BestBuy guy said that some great things were coming in the next 6 months." Then, being the perceived expert I was asked about that. I have no idea what is supposed to be so great. Maybe some next generation DLPs and LCDs, but isn't it the same improvement that we see every year? Am I missing something?

It's always the next six months or wait till CES.

I think the last great thing was 720 DLPs for $2500!

Well, lots of 1080p (1920 X 1080!) stuff coming this summer.

in computers and hdtv there is always something better on the way, if you wait for it you will never buy anything, because after that there is always another step up coming,

1080p may be worth waiting for though, but then the next deal may be 1080p on a LED millimeter wide tv or something, so just buy what you want, when you want it is my deal( well, with the ok from the wife)

My hope about 1080p displays, would be that 720p displays drop even more in price.
