Sony Chromavue 80" Projector Screen Question
Hi All,
I recently upgraded my HT and purchased the Sony VPL-HS20 projector off my buddy.
I'm thinking about the different screens to use with it and was wondering if anyone heard or has an opinion about the new 80" Screen Sony developed (HCS-W80). Found this interesting about the screen from Sony's website. - "the Chromavue Screen utilizes a special multi-layer technology that rejects ambient room light to display an image contrast more than five times better than conventional white screens under the same conditions." Also heard good things about it from this year's CES event. This seems to be a great screen to use in a room with alot of light (which my living room will be since i don't have a dedicated HT room).
I've seen the projector used with a Vutec SilverStar 92" and was very impressed with the PQ in a controlled lighting setting.
Ultimately, I will compare the Sony screen with the Vutec and had a few questions...
1. How much better (Sony statement being true) will the Sony screen look in a room with uncontrolled light compared to traditional white screens???
2. Will this new Sony screen be great for viewing during the day, but not perform as well at night (where the Vutec would shine)???
3. I like the 92" screen size, would i regret going smaller with the 80"??? (If anyone else has had the same dilemma)
I wanted to get some opinions about this screen before I do anything and though this would be the best place.
Sorry about the lengthy post...
Thanks in Advance,
Beny_K
