After watching a DVD and shuttng off the TV, there is a black image imprint/retention on the screen for several seconds before it fades away. Is this something to be concerned about? This was using 480 p with the DVD player doing the deinterlacing on component. My TV is a month and a half old Sony KP-57WS520 --- well calibrated.

the phosphors, especially the green tube, will emit light even after the beam has passed by. You are just seeing this decay.

Cool, no biggie then. Thanks.

Chris, any idea what the waves I am seeing might be?

The kind of move left to right for the most part. I've tried the following:

- Plugged TV into five different outlets in house
- Different DVD players, cables, etc.
- Removed just about everything from TV

I figure it's either the house (brand new home in new sub so I doubt it) or it's the TV. And, if it's the TV, would it be a bad power supply on it?
