I am running directTV and i have cable 2-99 without a cable box. How can i set this up so i can get Directv as the main picture and cable in the PIP. The cable only has coax so i need to convert the coax into a usable input plug, right?

Right.

The way I achieve this is having the coax cable go into my VCR and use the S-Video out from the VCR to the projector. All other sources (X-Box, DVD, and Digital Cable) feed into my receiver and I run component cable from there to the projector.
