Best time to buy a TV?

Hey all,

From my recent post, thinking about buying a new TV soon. Should I wait for christmas time? After Christmas? When's the best time for prices to drop? When do new sets come out?

Thanks!

Black Friday (the Friday after Thanks giving) and then usually from Mid Jan. through the end of the month, usually playing the Super Bowl angle....

In the end, once you know exactly which one, finding best price becomes much easier never minding the time of year it happens to be.

Bought my last display on the day after Thanksgiving (sheeze, I never knew it was called Black Friday or I would have brought my mojo beads along). At that time, the regular sale price was about 10% off and that weekend the store made it 20%.

Anyone notice if this scarily-named holiday effect affects Amazon.com too? I ask because the LCD tv I want is mainly available through Amazon (via Tiger Direct).
