BenQ 6200 or Screen Play 4805

Curious what you all thought of these 2 in comparison. I am debating now between these 2. The Ben Q just seems to have a 3X color wheel to where the 4805 has a 4x's. Will it make much of a difference? Contrast seems to be the same and they are both native 16:9. The BenQ also has a higher native resolution. Any thoughts? I plan on using mine for DVD and X-Box. Thanks again everyone.

The benq6200 isn't native 16:9, it is 4:3. I have one and use it for dvd, xbox, and hd viewing. I haven't seen the 4805 so I can't make a comparison, but both projectors have a good following. It all depends on what features you want more. The 4805 was designed for home theater so I would think that it would have a slight edge for dvd, where as I think that the 6200 would be better for gaming and HD. Although, like previously mentioned I haven't seen both.

The Infocus comes reasonably close to D65, has more accurate colour decoding, and a myriad of advanced user controls to adjust to your exacting needs.

I have a 4805 and a 6100 (similar machine - but 800x600). I can say that I see rainbows with both machines. It is significantly reduced on the 4805, however. I will also say that rainbows are an overblown issue unless you are one of those unfortunate people who suffer from headaches. I see them and can easily ignore them.

There's no doubt that the higher resolution will benefit you in that you will be able to sit closer to the screen (or have a larger screen).

If you turn off the white segment on the 6200, you will put the lamp into normal mode (that is, not economy mode). That will give you 2000 hours, versus the 4805's 4000 hours. Lamps aren't cheap, so you may want to factor that into your costs.
