I realize all TVs do this, but when is it too much? When is it a technical defect?

Also, how much of it is from the source (DVD or cabel signal) and how much from the TV?

Is it easy to fix? Is it advisable to have one's TV adjusted to where there is zero overscan?

I use my DVD player to zoom out and fix the overscan, but since this has been causing me other problems (see my other recent post in this forum) I'm thinking about having the TV's overscan fixed and be done with it.
