Not off hand, but if you can get a look at the back of the set in a store there's a serial number sticker with the place of mfg printed on it. My CRT based Sony was built in the USA.

Just took a look at the back of my 34XBR910, it says made in Mexico.

Why do you want to know?

I am planning to buy model 30XBR910 and take it down to Chile.

If the TV is made in Mexico, US, Canada or Europe I wouldn´t have to pay any custom duties. But if it were made in Asia 6% custom duty would apply.

Thanks, Steve and Dwight, for your help.

Octavio,

Does Chile use the ntsc television broadcast standard or PAL? If it doesn't use ntsc the set will be useless there.

Chile uses NTSC. Electricity is different than US since we use 220V instead of 120V. However a 500W converter (that costs here about US$25) is enough to make an american TV to work in Chile.

One question to XBR910 users:

When watching DVD´s using a progressive scan player, do you use DRC? Or is DRC for use with 480i sources only?

Thanks
