Right now I've got a Bravo D1 hooked up through DVI and a Samsung HD931 hooked up through component with my Sony GWIII. I've got the D1 set up for 720p output. I'm switching back and forth (with a delay as a move the DVD from player to player) and so far I don't see any real difference. Have I gone to all this trouble to get a DVI player for nothing? What should I be looking for?

Thanks,

Donald

Donald,

Some things to look for:

-Check for scaling artifacts that are apparent from the analog input vs. the DVI
-Check the color decoder to see if the formula is the same on both inputs or different
-Check a frequency response pattern to observe which is giving you more frequency response (this theoretically should be better on the DVI)

All of these patterns are available on the Avia and DVE discs.
