About to decide on Plus Piano...

I've decided to go with front projection for my new theater room. My local dealer has recommended the Plus Piano Avanti HE-3200. The price is right at $2999.

Are there other projectors I should consider in the $3,000 range? Usage will be 50% television, 30% DVD, and 20% HDTV. I will have total control of the light in the room.

Thanks in advance.

If your budget is at all flexible take a look at the Infocus 5700. It's getting great reviews for list $4999.

Hmmm for $2999 I might consider the Panasonic L300U which, with its long bulb life, will be TV friendly.

Is this correct? I'm seeing street prices below $2,000 for the L300U. Reviews seem to favor this projector over the Piano. Now I'm reconsidering! Does anybody have feedback on the L300U?

Thanks again!

Ron, the NEC HT-1000 will give you a rather large step up in image quality for the price increment. The real 2000:1 contrast ratio achieved by a 12 degree DLP chip makes quite a difference over the older generation machines. It would street for about $500 more (after $500 rebate) over what you stated as a Piano price.
