Which side of blackout cloth do I project on? PJ being delivered today!!!

Hello, So excited here, but there is one thing I cannot find in the search.

I have my screen all set to be built using blackout cloth from jo ann's. Which side do I project onto? I am assuming the clothy side, not the rubberish side.

Of course I want to make sure before I built it though =)

Panny 200u coming today, everything else minues screen/wall curtains are up. This is the longest wait ever.

Thanks for all your help guys, it wouldn't have been possible without all of the info here.

Just set the panny 200 on a chair and threw a pic on the wall. I put up a few strips of white poster paper just to measure how big I want the screen.

I tell you, this PJ blew me away straight out of the box onto a paper wall. wow!

I will be building the real screen this weekend and testing it out, I will leave it white, but I have a spare peice of blackout I will test the gray with.

I thought I saw you mention you liked the white now better? That still true or was I mistaken?

I never painted mine. The white screen looked and worked so well that I didn't feel the need to.
(Using an LT150 DLP)

Thanks Mike, and may I say WOW those crt pics look incredible.

That's my next step, learning more about crt's

I must say though, this Panny 200U even projected on a wall, looks amazing in my 100% black room. More then I ever expected for 995 shipped.

A lot of people (myself incl) project onto the rubbery side not the cloth so it depends on the blackout cloth you got...just try both sides and pick the one you like the best.

Brian, I have a gray screen. I ran tests with the white blackout, a Da-Lite matte white, a silver and a gray screen. The gray was the best of the lot. Increased black levels, less screen-door effect were the two most noticeable improvements. All other colors went unaffected.
