Need help on projector options

What is out there that has a brightness of at least 1000 lumens that is under about $1800? I've been given the budget and it is to be used in a room that will have a fair amount of ambient lighting. I just need some options on what may be out there if anything. Thanks.

I think Jim's right on the money. I like http://www.ProjectorCentral.com in particular.

If the room is bright you may want to lean toward an LCD, though not necessarily. One projector to consider is the NEC VT660 (1024x768 native, 1700 lumens):

The NEC is around $1,995 street price (free shipping). You said under about $1800 didn't you?

Sean.
