Philips RPTV problem (4x3)

I have a 54 RPTV from Philips (4x3) that is 4 year old. I bought this set in Brazil (´cause I live here...). About 2 weeks ago I notice that the image exhibits a flashing pattern, always turning the image to a greenish tone for a second or so. The longer I leave the TV on the worse the problem gets. A called the service personnel and they changed that RGB box (where you control the "screen" settings), but the problem persisted. Now they tell me both my grenn and red CRTs are defective.
Does somebody know if this is probably the case, because if it is the CRTs are too expensive to replace and I would have to buy a new TV?
