Budget Projector

Hello All!
I'm thinkig of picking up a projector. Proabably used. Mabye off of Ebay. I really just want something to use with my x-box and ps2 or my computer. I'm thinking no more than $700.00 used? Is that reasonable? What could I get in that pricerange? Like I said I'm not going to use if for hard core movie watching just games. Any suggestions or imput would be greatly appreciated. I saw some cheap stuff on Ebay and I was curious if I could get something decent for a small investment.

Thanks in advance,

Luis S

I would suggest going to Stapled or Office Max if you have one and getting an office type projector. They dont look as good as HT ones but as you said your not interrested in quality. Dont expect to get it at about 700 either.

Hey Chris thanks for the reply. That's pretty much what I had in mind (office type projector) and I saw quite a few of them under $700. My problem I guess is I have no idea which of these would be what Im looking for. Some of them seem to be older models but I cant be sure.Is there a website I can reference perhaps regarding these older players? Id love ideally to find something like a used Panny AE100 or something for a $1000, but id settle for some used office Projector. As I said any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Luis S

Be sure to check out bulb prices too! It would suck to get a $700 projector, then after 2000 hours or so, need to pay $400 for a new bulb!

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...a super-callused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

Gameshow host: "Is taking Viagra kosher during Passover dinner?"
Whoopee Goldberg: "Not if it leads to pork."
Kermit the Frog: "Hey, that's my line!"

Seems to me you should check out the Best Buy web site. I think they sell Toshibas brand new somewhere around there, though I could be wrong. Also JANDR Music sells computer capable projection monitors, you might want to check out those prices too. If you can swing it, a Sony VPLW10HT 16.9 LCD HDTV projector can be gotten new on the web for under 3grand. I guarantee, you'd be in Hog Heaven!
