64 Bit System Able too run 32 bit Programs??

Hi, I was wondering if you went to a 64 bit system will 32 bit Programs still run on this system??

My Dad just found out his CPU & MoBo are 64 bit capable so now he wants to switch over to 64 bit?? I know what is needed I just don't know if his 32 bit Programs will work once he switches over to 64 bit??

THNX

Short answer: yes, they will work.

But you may find no benefit running in 64-bit, unless you deal with Really Big Things (databases, images), and some hassles instead.

I wouldn't bother. Not really worth it unless you're doing some heavy duty stuff.

I have already told My Dad it will Not do much for him but he just wants to be running 64 bits, he just thinks it will make His Programs run faster??

I did read about 64 bit that mostly Engineers use it with CAD Programs and such.

THNX!!
