Playing Windows Media HD from hard drive

I'm purchasing 3 WMHD movies from Amazon for some demo material and I'd like to have them play directly from the hard drive...even rotating as a play list if possible.

Just wondering if anyone has tried this, or am I treading the DRM line?

Thanks,

No, you're a genius 'cause you can't make a lamp.
What do you know about trigonometry?
I could care less about trigonometry.
Did you know without trigonometry there would be no engineering?
Without lamps there'd be no light.

Never tried it, but considering how paranoid the studios are about HD material, the chances that you can copy those to your hard drive easily and legally are mighty slim.

Re: Playing Windows Media HD from hard drive

Disks arrived. I copied the 2.7GB WMV file to the hard drive on my XP machine and it fires up just fine without the disk in the drive. Nice. There's also a 2.0 GB file with "720" in the file name. I'll try both tonight.

Vista, on the other hand, didn't play as nicely which is what I expected. Whether through Media Center or Windows Media Player it displays a message to click on. When you click on the error it takes you to a web page which simply says, "Place the Coral Reef Adventure disk in the drive"

XP w/media player it is.
