Sending video from PC to TV

Hi,

I have a basic HTPC setup with the PC hooked up to a Pioneer VSX815 receiver and a Sony 29" CRT TV. My issue is that my TV has only composite and component video inputs, while my graphics card (ATI Radeon 9600 SE)on the comp has only S-video and DVI outputs. My receiver does not upconvert from S-video to component, so I cannot pass S-video to the receiver and connect the TV to the receiver component video output. I therefore have to use a wire which has an S-Video connector at one end and a composite connector at the other. This leads to electrical noise/ disturbance on the TV when viewing the HTPC desktop.

How can I eliminate the interference? Is there a DVI to component video converter cable that I should use, which would give me better output? If so, should I connect this directly to the TV or should I pass the component output through the receiver, hoping that its circuitry cleans up the video signal?

Thanks!

Maybe something like this?

Never tried it, know nothing about the company making it, but it was hit number one when I googled it using http://www.google.com/search?q=radeon+dvi+to+component

Hope it works, and if not you're out less than $30 so I doubt if you'll wind up living in a cardboard box on a streetcorner even if it doesn't do what you want.
